Welcome to “Sea La Vie”! This home sleeps up to four guests in conventional beds and another 1-2 guests could be accommodated for a short stay, like over a weekend, on a sofa bed in the third bedroom.
This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Some exceptions may be possible, with the approval of our team and the homeowner.
A pristine Carmel cottage with an inner courtyard for privacy, as well as beautifully renovated interiors that combine modern conveniences with vintage charm, is just steps away from shopping, dining and entertainment in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea.
The 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath home is perfect for two couples or a family getaway, with whitewashed vaulted ceilings, skylights and large windows that let in plenty of natural light, and easy-care hardwood floors.
Coastal-themed art by local Carmel artists enhances the French country décor in tones of white, gray and blue, with designer touches and vintage furnishings throughout. The pet-friendly home (for well-behaved dogs only) features a fully fenced yard with multiple outdoor seating areas, including a back deck with a patio table, lounge chairs and grill.
Besides being just a 5-minute walk from downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, it’s also a short drive to monarch butterfly sightings in Pacific Grove, Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. Downtown Monterey and golfing in Pebble Beach are 10 minutes away by car, and other attractions within a half hour’s drive are the natural wonders of Big Sur and wine tasting in Carmel Valley Village.
Living Space
A flagstone path beneath graceful live oak trees leads to the front door, where guests enter into the home’s main hallway. The living room features a comfortable seating area around the wood-burning Carmel stone fireplace with gas start, a perfect place to relax while enjoying a good book or watching the 46-inch HDTV. A well-cushioned window seat looks out at the back deck area, which can be accessed from the living room. The deck features patio seating and a gas grill.
Kitchen and Dining
The adjacent kitchen features a vintage Bertazzoni gas stove, along with two Shaws sinks, vintage light fixtures, marble countertops and backsplash, and a high-end Liebherr refrigerator. The kitchen leads into a greenhouse-style dining room looking out into the treetops with high-backed chairs for 6 at a vintage-style table under a crystal chandelier.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Bedroom #1 is on the second floor, which features skylights and glimpses of the ocean. King bed, TV, gas fireplace and a private deck with a lounge chair. An enormous en suite bathroom and dressing area includes a vintage claw-foot tub and a large separate shower, a makeup vanity area and a walk-in closet.
Downstairs, Bedroom #2 offers a unique skylight, a queen bed, TV and a door that leads to the front courtyard. The en suite bathroom has a shower with custom tile and built-in seat.
Bedroom #3 can be used as a sitting room with a TV but the comfortable sofa can convert into a full/double sleeper with foam topper, recommended for overnight or short-term guests, and its full en suite bathroom includes a marble shower with glass door.
Heated floors and towel warmers can be found in each of the three bathrooms.
Near the living areas you will find a powder room / half-bath with a quartz sink and ornate mirror.
A washer and dryer are hidden behind sliding doors near the entry.
Parking for two vehicles is available in the driveway and an electric vehicle (EV) charger is on hand.
