Nestled at the base of Bouddi National Park, it provides guests with an authentic Australian bush experience, including walking trails to Lobster Beach and Box Head, which offer stunning coastal views.
Wagstaffe Wharf is a short stroll, featuring a paddling beach, swimming, fishing, kayaking, tables and BBQ overlooking Brisbane Water. The wharf docks the Palm Beach/Ettalong ferry service.
Stay in the original 1950s cottage by the Bay, Bush & Sea. Full of character and coastal nostalgia, Amaroo offers a cosy retreat in the peaceful village of Wagstaffe—perfect for guests attending local weddings, exploring Bouddi National Park, or simply unwinding by the water.
Amaroo is a more traditional Airbnb where we rent out the front half of the house — which is the the original 1950s cottage — while we quietly live in the rear extension and converted garage which were added later.
The beauty of this property is that you still get to stay in a beautiful area which has no hotels and also enjoy a more local experience by staying in an original coastal cottage.
This self-contained space includes a comfy lounge with sofa bed, a queen bedroom with views to the Box Head escarpment and water glimpses, a fully equipped kitchen, a sunny six seater dining nook and a bathroom.
Your dog can enjoy places such as Wagstaffe Reserve and the small beach at Wagstaffe Wharf, Turo Park, the off road “Dog Track” joining Araluan Drive along the waterfront to Hardys Bay, or Killcare Beach.
Stroll to Wagstaffe Wharf, hike the Flannel Flower track from the top of the street, or explore nearby Lobster Beach and local cafes.
Lobster Beach is a secluded and scenic gem. With calm waters & breathtaking views over Broken Bay & Lion Island, it’s the perfect spot for a peaceful swim or a quiet escape. Accessible by a short but steep 15-20 min bushwalk directly from the cottage, it’s well worth the effort.
For longer stays — enjoy a day out on the ferry — 5 mins over to Ettalong or 30 mins to Palm Beach.
