Summary: From the beginning contact with the owners and interactions with David, the manager, our experience was delightful. The house is charming and beautifully kept. It has a fully stocked kitchen, several comfortable beds and beautifully appointed bathrooms. The hosts have obviously spent a lot of time and thought to set up the home to be an awesome vacation spot. It's large enough to handle several people, maybe even 2-3 families, and certainly more than spacious enough for a couple. The location is amazing! We were on a secluded beach with immediate access. The 3 1/2 mile drive from Queens Highway intimidated us at first but we quickly got used to the few blind curves and some of the spots requiring attention. This road is the very reason the place is so quiet and secluded. The gentle waters of the cove make for an entirely pleasurable experience and yet you still see the drama of the ocean as waves crash on the rocks forming the cove. There are interesting beach hikes on either side of the cove as well. The House Manager David really made the whole experience convient. He was accessible and checked in with us if he hadn't heard anything, simply to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. This is our first experience in such a faraway place in the Bahamas and we certainly learned a few things we'd like to pass on to those considering this house. These hints have nothing to do with the house itself and these hosts. The island itself is isolated and scarcely populated. The island is ideal for family time on the porch reading and smashing in the water. There are restaurants and cafes scattered along Queen's Highway but these were not our focus. There are several small grocery stores but the one to check out that will meet all your needs is Hillside, which is in Salt Pond near the house. Amazingly, they had a very nice selection of vegetarian offerings. The Saturday Farmer's Market is small but worth checking out. We found lovely gifts to take home and beach reading choices. Another important thing to consider is to use the Stella Maris Airport rather than Deadman's Cay. It's more frequently used and reliable because of its proximity to the resort and you have more options there of flights in and out. Choose Bahamas Air over Southern Air Charter because they have bigger planes. Southern Air, with its small planes, will cancel flights if the weather is not ideal. Keep in mind that Bahamas Air flights are often 2-3 hour
