Summary: For being right at the lake the rate is very affordable. We took the kayaks out and walked into the water to cool off after we got back. There is no boat dock but we weren’t planning on renting a boat for the week anyway. We went out for dinner one night at WatersView Restaurant on the north side of the eating ferry bridge. The fried captain’s platter and spicy margarita was great. We also drove to the Palmer Point Park at the Kerr Reservoir. The beach was great. We stopped at lucky’s grill and dairy bar for a burger on the way there. We also drove over to Roanoke Rapids Lake Day Use Area to walk the trail but with the major heat wave decided to cut it short and go to the Riverside Mill antique mall in Weldon. The door code deadbolt wouldn’t open a couple times. If so you have to pull outward on the door knob slightly to relieve the binding and allow the motor to slide the deadbolt open. We had the same issue at our house so I knew what to do
