We will provide you with the products needed for it, as well as basic supplies for shower. You may occasionally hear noise from neighbouring apartments, as most buildings in Lisbon aren’t soundproofed! The neighbours in this building tend to be very peaceful and polite, therefore we would be grateful if you could please respect their peace and quiet. ##Neighborhood Elsa’s place is located in Lisbon, Portugal. Located in the heart of Lisbon, between the neighbourhoods of Amoreiras and Estrela, Campo de Ourique is considered one of the best and pleasant neighbourhoods to live in and stay. Campo de Ourique is also the last stop on the iconic Number 28 tram route, which is one of the city’s last original 1930s trams, and on which you can take in some of the most touristic parts of the old Lisbon. Campo de Ourique is perhaps the most family-oriented part of Lisbon, full of good pastry shops, fine grocery shops and a bunch of decently-priced good Restaurants, many of them typically Portuguese. The essence of this neighbourhood is very old, go out and do everything walking, whether to take the breakfast, to go shopping, go to the bank, go to the gallery … or simply walk by the streets full of life that characterize the area. And you can do all of this without have to repeat always the same places. There are enough quantity and quality, there are old and new places and the majority deserve a visit. At the heart of this neighborhood is a small lovely park, Jardim da Parada, with a kiosk, which invites locals of all ages and it’s a pleasant area. You just have to stop here for a drink or to eat. Walking distance from the house (5 – 15minutes walk), you will find a few tourist attractions. We highlight: - The monumental Basilica da Estrela. The Royal Basilica of Estrela is one of Lisbon's most beautiful monuments and one of its most monumental churches. - Estrela Garden is a romantic neighborhood park . It dates back to 1852, and is a lovely spot for reading, for children to play, or to work out. It's right across from the Estrela Basilica, and has duck ponds, a playground, an old wrought-iron bandstand, a kiosk and a café with outdoor seating for light meals. In between it all are several exotic plants and sculptures. On the first weekend of each month there's a crafts and design fair from 10AM to 7PM, and on summer weekends it's also one of the stages of the OutJazz music festival. For an unusual experience, visit the beautiful Prazeres Cemetery, which dates back to 1833 and is considered an open sky museum. It is home to beautiful architecture, the cemetery with Europe’s largest tombs as well as the highest concentration of cypress trees on the Iberian peninsula. The beautiful Santo Condestável’s Church is also well worth a visit, designed by Vasco Regaleira. Casa Fernando Pessoa is the neighbourhood’s cultural centre, dedicated and named after the eponymous poet. It is the house where the world-renowened poet Fernando Pessoa lived the last years of his life and it's made up of a few personal objects and portraits by Almada Negreiros and Julio Pomar, as well as a library with books about the writer and subjects related to him. - Museum Mae d’Agua, with city views from the terrace. Lisbon's monumental aqueduct is one of the world's most remarkable hydraulic and engineering constructions of all time, and is part of the award-winning Water Museum. - If you're feeling peckish, the refurbished 1930's market building is a good option Essentially an upmarket food hall, Mercado de Campo de Ourique houses nearly 20 different tasquinhas offering all sorts of national and international cuisine. The latest renovation added tables for the consumption of much of what is sold in the market. Together with fish, seafood, meat, and fruits, there are also stalls specializing in pastries, pizza and sushi. It's open every day until late at night, so it's more than a shopping destination, it's also a place for meals throughout the day. There's also a wine stand presenting wines and cocktails to accompany the food, served by the bottle or glass. Seating is arranged around tables set in the middle of the market, with plenty of space for families and larger groups. It’s difficult to find place at the weekends. And, as befitting a working market, there are plenty of artisan stalls to browse for provisions and souvenirs between courses. Free wireless internet service is available throughout the interior. Near the Market, Melhor Bolo de Chocolate do Mundo claim to have the world’s best chocolate cake and is certainly worth a taste to judge for yourself. There are many other niece places where to eat and have a drink in Campo de Ourique (5- 10 minutes from the apartment). For lunch, head to Tasca Imperial for a reasonably-priced hearty Portuguese meal. In the evening, try Restaurante Moules & Beer for a variety of mussels dishes with Belgian, German, Dutch, and Portuguese beer. Magano, O solar dos Duques, A Tasca da Esquina are all very niece Portuguese restaurants. Amélia is a popular brunch place, La Focacceria is a lovely Italian restaurant. Alternatively, for Portuguese and international haute cuisine, try the romantic Estórias a Casa da Comida. For an evening drink, the laid back and fun A Paródia is good for drinks with friends, while the charming Art Nouveau bar Procópio plays jazz and bossa nova music while you drink. You will find a complete guide (best restaurants, places to visit, transports) on the apartment. ##Transit The closest metro station is Rato, approximately 15 minutes walk away from the property. There is a Parking lot 1 minute walk from the apartment, leaving the apartment on your left, which costs 3€ per day from 9AM to 7PM. Street parking is paid. #Notes -The flat capacity is for 4 people.
