Welcome to Starland Victorian Gem, an 1895 Victorian Townhouse in the heart of Savannahs Victorian Historic District. This is a three bedroom townhouse ideal for up to 6 guests. The architect curated interiors are a mixture of original and reproduction art, furniture, lighting and vintage finds. The original stair baluster and 125 year old heart pine floors remain throughout the house. After passing through the double entry doors, you will see the grand stair and entry hall. The living room with 10’ tall ceilings and a bay window is directly to your right with two new leather coaches, side tables, coffee table and a sideboard filled with games and puzzles. A 60” Smart TV and Wi-Fi enabled soundbar provide video and music. An additional lounge chair makes seating for 6 very comfortable. The room is anchored by an original fireplace and mantle. Passing through the pocket doors which always remain open is the dining room. There is comfortable seating at a table for 6 guests and we have recently added an art deco cabinet filled with unique china, glassware and linens for your use. This room is also anchored by an original fireplace and mantle. Stepping through an open doorway you find the well equipped kitchen with oven/range, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, small appliances and stackable laundry. The balance of the first floor is a small bedroom with queen size bed and an adjacent full bathroom ideal for guests not wanting to climb the stairs to the second floor.
Moving up the grand stair to the second level is a full bathroom for both upstairs bedrooms. The bedrooms feature new queen beds, nightstands and reading lamps, a comfortable chair, antique dresser, 32” TV and a small closet. Both bedrooms retain their original coal burning fireplaces and mantles. Each bedroom has curtains and pull down blinds to keep the bright morning light out if you desire. Ample thick towels, comfortable pillows and 600 thread count bed linens are provided. The remaining room upstairs is the original “fainting room”. This provides for an overflow sleeping area with one twin size day bed.
Our home is located on the boarder of two historic districts within the city center. Thomas Square Starland District is a fun, vibrant neighborhood with many restaurants and shops. North of Anderson street towards the river is the Victorian district. There are many excellent restaurants and the South end of Forsyth Park is just 4 blocks away. Please note that this an urban environment. Houses and multi family buildings are within close proximity to one another. You will see and hear other people. This is not a suburban neighborhood. If you are seeking an exciting and vibrant Savannah experience, our home is an ideal location. Please note, there is no off street parking however there is typically parking on the street in front of the property or nearby in the neighborhood. No special permits or meters required.
