We delight in welcoming you to our home. My name is Vicki. I work from home and my husband, Jonathan, works in tech in San Francisco. We have been hosting internationals and adult professionals from around the world since 2012. We are easy to get along with and enjoy sharing our beautiful 3-bed/2-bath Victorian home in Alameda.
We have a great corner bedroom available with 4 large windows so there is lots of light and airflow. We also have an extra large bedroom with a double bed. This room has spacious closets , TVs with free Wi-Fi and mini fridge/freezers.
Shared spaces include: Livingroom, Kitchen, Dining room, Patio and Yard. The main bathroom is primarily yours. Our home is beautiful, clean and has a large grassy yard with gardens, BBQ, fire pit & patio table.
Rent includes: utilities, Wi-Fi, on-site laundry, mini-frig/freezer in your room, and large monitor/TV. We are centrally located and walking distance to the beach, shopping, farmers markets, cafes, libraries, great restaurants, wine tasting rooms and micro-brewery pubs.
We live in a nice neighborhood, a good community, and it's very safe.
Because Alameda is an island, we have long sandy beaches (10-min walk from our home) with amazing views of San Francisco. Our streets are safe and easy to walk or ride a bike. From our home it's easy to get anywhere: just 10-minutes away from a Ferry Station, 2 blocks away from bus stop & close to 880 (about 30-mins to San Francisco/10-mins to Oakland). We enjoy doing a lot of outdoor activities with our guests and have enjoyed going sightseeing, on weekends away to the wine country, Monterey and camping in the Sierras (weather permitting). We've taught English and American culture courses in Berkeley and are willing to help international students or professionals with any cultural or language issues you may encounter.
House rules are simple: Respect the house, treat others like you want to be treated and enjoy your stay while in the beautiful Bay Area.
